1. Acceptance of these terms

By using this website, you agree to these Terms of Use and the Privacy Policy. Do not use the service if you do not agree.

2. Independent educational purpose

Free HTL Guide provides independent histotechnology education and HT/HTL certification exam-preparation material. It is not produced, endorsed, approved, or scored by ASCP or the ASCP Board of Certification.

The content is for education and study. It is not a substitute for current official examination guidance, laboratory procedures, manufacturer instructions, institutional policies, safety data sheets, accreditation requirements, professional judgment, or applicable law.

No score, study target, progress indicator, recommendation, or certificate on this website guarantees eligibility, examination passage, certification, employment, or professional competence.

3. Learner accounts

• Provide accurate account information and keep your sign-in information private.
• Do not share an account or use another learner’s account without permission.
• Report suspected unauthorized use promptly.
• A free account supports eligible progress features but does not automatically include Premium access.
• You may use available account controls to export or reset eligible progress, update account information, sign out, or delete the account.

4. Permitted use of content

You may use the website and authorized downloads for your own personal educational study. Unless written permission is provided, you may not:

• republish, sell, sublicense, or distribute lessons, question banks, explanations, answer keys, downloads, or substantial portions of the service;
• share Premium content or account access with others;
• bypass sign-in, plan, rate-limit, or other access controls;
• scrape, extract, or reproduce protected content at scale;
• present the material as official certification examination content;
• use the service to violate law, third-party rights, or examination-security rules.

These terms do not transfer ownership of the underlying material. Applicable law may allow limited quotation or fair use in specific circumstances.

5. Premium services and payments

Premium enrollment and checkout are not active yet. Before a paid plan is offered, the website will show the price, billing period, renewal terms, cancellation method, refund policy, and important restrictions before purchase.

Premium access begins only after the account is eligible for the selected plan. Creating an account, visiting a confirmation page, or changing browser information does not by itself establish paid access.

Additional billing terms may be published before paid launch. Material changes will be presented through the website or another appropriate notice.

6. Availability, corrections, and account action

The service may change as educational content is reviewed, corrected, expanded, secured, or moved to new hosting. Features may be temporarily unavailable for maintenance, security, legal, or operational reasons.

Access may be limited or ended for security abuse, unauthorized distribution, fraud, unlawful activity, or a material violation of these terms. Reasonable steps will be taken, where appropriate, to protect learner data and valid account rights.

Educational errors may be corrected without preserving outdated wording. Review dates and editorial boundaries should be considered when using the material.

7. Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated as hosting, Premium delivery, billing, support, or legal requirements develop. The effective date will be updated when a material revision is published. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms to the extent permitted by law.
